Celan is a band that is flat out talented. This is to be expected when you put members from Unsane, Oxbow and others in the same room and let them do what comes naturally (let their creative juices flow). They are art, they are talent, they are rock and roll.
Celan is a band that will appeal to the hippiest of art hipsters, the dirtiest metalheads and the gritiest rock and rollers. They experiment with sound a bit, helped out a lot by keyboardist Ari Beenjamin Meyers. Most of it works, though I could do without "Safety Recall Notice" and "Washing Machine," as well as the few minutes of silence that starts off "Lunchbox." The rest of it is pure genius working on all levels.
Celan is a band that should be checked out. Being from Europe, it might take some time for them to hit the states, but they're gonna crash this shore hard and quickly gain a legion of headbanging fans from all walks of genres.
