Paramore-Brand New Eyes
Fueled by Ramen
September 29, 2009

A band as popular as Paramore almost doesn't need to have their new album reviewed. Most people have an already established opinion of the band, and those that don't probably won't hear about Paramore for the first time from reading something about them. A small percentage, maybe, but most Paramore newbies will hear about them via radio singles, and Brand New Eyes will have a lot of them, with "Ignorance" blasting them into superstardom.

I hate having to write reviews based on singles, but Paramore writes pop rock music for the masses, and Haley Williams' voice is made for the big time, meaning that they can't write a song similar to Between the Buried and Me. After many listens to this album, I had to check Amazon to see what the first single actually was, as there isn't much filler on this album. For fans of female fronted melodic pop rock, this is as solid as they come. The songs are clever, catchy and memorable. I love Williams' vocals, and the band backs her up (she is the focal point) damn near perfectly. I was not expecting to like this album as much as I do.
