Stoner sludge hardcore. One part Eyehategod, one part Tragedy, one part The Melvins. That alone should give you a pretty good idea of what Sweet Cobra sound like, but most reviews need to be more than two sentences and three name drops.
While the tempos are usually on the slower side of the spectrum, there is a hardcore spirit that is hard to deny. Its subtle, but its very much there. Everything is very hard hitting and loud (even with volume control). They are a pissed off band, which helps with the hardcore energy. There are also some sing along parts, which are very hardcore but done in a stoner way.
Sweet Cobra is a middle of the road crossover band. They are pretty much at the exact center of hardcore and stoner, topped with a healthy dosing of sludge. This is a band combines two styles that are in the same family, but don't usually fit in all that well, and make it sound good.
